Sapporo, in Hokkaido, is famous for holding the Olympic winter games in 1972. It’s also known for its beer, ramen and for the snow festival it holds annually in February. Sapporo makes for a good, convenient place to live in as the public transport system is efficient and fast, much like in other big cities of Japan.
If you’re thinking about moving to Sapporo to pursue job opportunities here, you will be glad to know that the city has a large international community. Looking for a comfortable, convenient place to live can prove to be difficult. With Village House, however, your apartment-hunting can be effortless. We offer a range of different types of apartments all around the city and will assist you in selecting one that fits your living needs, so you will be bound to find one that you will love.
When starting your apartment search, it is important to consider your living needs and preferences. Do you wish to have your workplace within walking distance? Or are you working within a budget and should have the cost of your apartment fall within a certain price range?
If you’re an ALT or English teacher, it would be convenient to have schools close by to your apartment. For example, Village House Kotoni Dai 2 is only a 6-minute walk from both Hassamu Nursery and Hassamu Elementary School, making it a great choice. Traveling to other parts of the city and visiting other cities in Japan is easy, as the Hassamu-Chuo Station is also a short walk away too.
Another consideration is the size of the apartment and the number of bedrooms it comes with. Village House Fukuzumi, priced at an attractive ¥18,000 for a cozy 2K apartment, is an excellent choice for a pair of friends or a couple. For those who prefer more living room space, and only require a single bedroom along with kitchen facilities, the 1LDK, priced at ¥22,000 is also an ideal option. Village House Higashi Tsukisamu and Village House Satsunae offer lovely 2LDK apartments for larger families and are in close proximity to amenities such as the bank and post office, as well as the public transport system.

You can also choose to visit the Sapporo Beer Museum to find out how beer is made and the history behind it. Or tour the Ishiya Chocolate Factory to find out how Hokkaido’s specialty white chocolate, ‘shiroi koibito’, is made and try some of these decadent delicacies.
