It also has plenty of hot springs and ski spots, perfect for recreation over the weekends or after a busy day at work. The city is also known for numerous festivals, like the Kokuseki-ji Sominsai in winter, where men pour cold water on themselves to pray for a successful harvest and drive away bad luck. In Spring, the Esashi Jinku Festival takes place where locals participate in a series of singing and dancing to pray for good fortune. The Hidaka Hibuse Festival, which has a history of 300 years, is Oshu’s premiere event that lends the city a pop of color in Spring. 3. What do I need to note before moving into my rented apartment in Oshu?

Before you move into your Oshu apartment, we will require the following:

  • Prorated fee for the first rental month and a full fee for the second rental month, both of which include the common service fee
  • Mandatory insurance fee starting from ¥10,000 for two years
